VILLA IN ALTEA

A place where nature meets architecture

Perched between the mountains and the sea, this house in Altea offers an uninterrupted connection with nature. Its design frames the endless horizon, capturing the changing colors of the sky and the deep blue of the water. The air carries the scent of pine trees and aromatic plants into the house, immersing the senses in the Mediterranean landscape.

The house is shaped by the region’s mild climate, allowing for an open, lightweight structure that blends indoor and outdoor living. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls dissolve boundaries, while extended, slender roofs provide shade—balancing openness with protection from the sun. Every element of the design is intended to bring ease and comfort to daily life.

At the heart of the villa, a grand entrance welcomes visitors with a large door that opens to a double-height space, where a sculptural spiral staircase becomes a striking focal point. This central axis connects two distinct areas on the ground floor: the open living space, featuring a spacious kitchen, lounge, and poolside terrace, and the private wing, where two bedrooms and a master suite each have their own bathrooms.

A carefully integrated volume runs through the house, beginning with the garage and continuing through a courtyard, where greenery and sky are framed through the kitchen window. This mass extends through the main living space, culminating in the pool.

Above, the upper floor stands as a light-filled pavilion, offering panoramic 360-degree views of the sea and mountains. Designed as an atelier and a space for contemplation, it is a place to pause, reflect, and create—floating above the landscape yet fully connected to it.

This villa is more than a home; it is an experience of openness, nature, and Mediterranean living at its finest.
